简介:
After the success of his debut album, The Stolen Cello , cellist Redi Hasa announces a Deluxe Edition available from Friday 11 June also on Decca Records. He continues his journey inspired by his story, that of a young man involved in the Albanian conflict in the early 90s, who sails in Italy in search of a new life bringing with him the most precious asset: a stolen cello.

The original tracklist of the album will be enriched by 5 new tracks that show Hasa's unique style and reveal new elements connected to his moving story: « Finger Dance - reads the press release - guides you through the scales and choreography to master his instrument, Play Time sadly recalls childhood games, Not Far is an emotional exploration of dreams that weren't as far away as once thought, and Morning Breeze paints a picture of waking up in the morning in the mountains. The latest entry on the deluxe album is an unexpected cover of The Beatles' With a Little Help My Friends, Hasa's tribute to a band that inspired him when he was a young musician and dreamed of freedom ».

Younger son of a cello teacher and a choreographer of the Tirana Opera House, at 13 Redi Hasa had already learned a vast cell repertoire by performing thanks to an instrument owned by the music school he attended in Tirana. In 1989, with the fall of the Berlin Wall, Albania plunged into a civil war overwhelmed by poverty and financial problems.

At the age of 20, Hasa entered the Tirana Conservatory but the clouds of conflict began to thicken. “I was afraid to leave the house. We were all afraid, ”he says, recalling that terrible time in his life. Hasa's older brother, 11 years his senior and living in Italy, encouraged him to join him to escape the growing tide of violence that was sweeping their country. Arriving at the port of Bari, unable to speak the local dialect, Hasa began the second act of his life, having with him the only object that could have helped him: the school cello, no longer on loan, but stolen. .

Redi Hasa released his first solo album The Stolen Cello , after working for many years as part of Ludovico Einaudi 's group ensemble , and performing in the ambitious Seven Days Walking project, which was chosen for the soundtracks of the new Oscar winners Nomadland (best film, best actress, best director) and The Father (best actor and best non-original screenplay). The album Seven Days Walking: Day Onereached # 1 on the UK Classical Chart, scoring the largest number of streams ever achieved by a classical music composer in its first week of release. Redi has performed alongside Einaudi and the violinist Federico Mecozzi in the most prestigious theaters and audiences around the world.

In his album and in the new songs in the deluxe, Redi Hasa highlights the "vocal" nature of the cello, an instrument that perhaps comes closest to that of the human voice, with a deeply personal story of hope and survival.
